OK. MSN.com news is ridiculous. Ridiculous. I think just this week they picked up on the fact that Brad and Jen broke up. They have two things on their web site. Old News and Obvious News. Obvious news with headlines posed like questions, such as "Do some Americans think Iraq was a bad idea?"
We get our videos from a place called Family Video. The name implies a sense of wholesome, family-oriented fun. A few months ago, I wandered back to the rest room, since Kevin was taking FOREVER picking something out, and I discovered, nestled in the back of the store, a great big huge PORN section. I mean, fine, if the big chains want to sell porn, go for it. Obviously, there is a market for the stuff. Whether or not I see what's so great about it or agree with it or whatever is beside the point. But if you are going to have the name FAMILY VIDEO, maybe you should provide a little more disclosure. Something like "Family Video...something for the whole family, from little Sally to Creepy Uncle Lester." The sad part is I know the manager. I feel like i should say something but I sense he wouldn't respond well...
Also about family video...on more than one occasion i have heard a cashier, usually a nice middle aged woman or a clean cut young man, utter the word "Jack Ass." Now, granted this is because the read the titles to you on your way out the door like this "Steel Magnolias is due back on Wednesday and Jack Ass II is due back tomorrow." This is said well within earshot of 7 year olds. Sigh. I have yet to be in line behind anyone with an armload of porn but I am really looking forward to the day when they say "Thanks for choosing Family Video. Ass Boob Sluts 3 is due back on Monday..."
