8:38 p.m. - 2006-03-08 No, seriously, except for the part where I lost my cell phone, everything was cool. Overwhelming in an "Oh shit, I'm really a grown-up." sort of way. In a "I'm responsible for budgeting many thousands of dollars and showing actual results" sort of way. But I'm ok. Excited. Excited to be married to my job. Sorry Kevin, you missed the boat. I'm now betrothed to the responsibilities of a community development specialist. All kidding aside, my boss is great, passionate, experienced, helpful...my co-workers are young, capable and seemingly smart and fun. The $$ is better. The location is very good. I made friends with the doorman, Lou, who was very very concerned about my lost cell phone, which has supposedly been found.....my boss tracked me down in a bar to tell me....that was unexpected and endearing. My building is very old and cool and castle-like. My actual office has a window, although it is frosted glass so who knows what lies on the other side. And I'm learning all about osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoperosis, bursitis, juevenille arthritis and a bunch of other things I can't pronounce or spell yet. Oh, and as a side note, I'm primarily implementing programs in a neighboring county that is named "Beaver." Nope, not kidding. Go Beaver! |
